• Delivery of drawings in triplicate for endorsement.
• Implementation minimum survey depends on vessel class status, according to that informed by previous class, age and type of ship.
• Completing document and issuing new class certificate, together with statutory certificate required.

Main steps in process of transfer of class are as follows :

• Application for classification and survey
• Application for classification and survey is submitted to the nearest BKI's Branch Office. Scope of survey should be in such a way thereby not disturbing ship operation underway.
• To initiate classification process, management of the ship owner has contact with BKI to inform detail of status survey and other data.

Instruction
Requirements of survey herein below will be applied :

• Minimum requirement is survey equal to scope of annual survey, with inspection of engine and control system in general.
• Survey already due and vessel class condition must be completed.
• For all vessels at age of 5 through 10 years, several ballast space determined are inspected by Surveyor.
• For all vessels at age of 5 through 10 years, several loading space determined are inspected by Surveyor.
• For vessel at age of 15 years more and following ESP (enhanced survey program) such as oil tankers and bulk carriers, complete class renewal survey or intermediate survey, including docking. If docking survey is not due, under water survey is made as substitute
• For all ships at age of 20 years more, complete class renewal survey, including docking survey.

Additional survey and drawing inspection are required by new flag country.
Effective as of January 1, 2003, for vessel at age of more than 15 years, all surveys already due must be completed.

Survey
Proper time and place for vessel survey can be determined by the owner. To prepare vessel survey, cargo space and tanks must be prepared for inspection as determined by class transfer instruction. Survey will be made according to BKI requirements.

Drawing and information
BKI must have received drawings and information before the vessel is classified. To assist the class transfer process, the owner can submit document before the class transfer survey.

Certificate Issue
Interim classification and statutory certificate is issued after class transfer survey completes. Permanent classification and statutory certificate will be issued after all processes complete.

6. Propeller (baling-baling)
7. Stern tube dan glands
8. Wiring diagram (diagram pengawatan).
9. Steering gear sistims
10. Piping sistim and arrangements.
11. Untuk kapal di bawah 2 (dua) tahun, perhitungan getaran torsi

Informasi tambahan untuk kapal khusus

Kapal tangki minyak, kapal tangki kimia dan kapal pengangkut muatan curah / minyak :
1. Sistem pipa muatan di dalam tangki dan diatas geladak.
2. Sistem pemompaan pada ujung – ujung depan dan belakang dan sistem pengeringan pada koferdam dan ruang pompa.

Kapal tangki kimia :
1. Salinan sertifikat kelaikan
2. Rincian kondisi dan jenis muatan yang diangkut

Kapal tangki gas / minyak :
1. Penopang tangki muatan
2. Tangki geladak dan penopangnya
3. Rincian jenis muatan yang diangkut
